This guide will add a new setting to the animation layer blueprints to Invert IK Controls, when enabled the left hand will use the Right Hand IK setting’s values to set its location and the right hand will use the left hand socket location on the held weapon to set its location. This will effect both third and first person.
Go to the ABP_BaseHoldableAnimLayer and copy the videos below.
You can now go to a holdables anim layer blueprint and in its Class Defaults enable the Invert IK Controls setting. When you enable this it will only effect that weapon. This can be useful if for certain weapons you want the left hand to be controlled by the Right Hand IK setting’s values.
Keep in mind this will also invert the elbows IK values as well, so if Invert IK Controls is enabled the right elbow setting will effect the left elbow and the left elbow setting will effect the right elbow location.
