To use the destruction effect when a resource is destroyed you will need a Destruction mesh of your resource static mesh. To create one right click your resource static mesh in the Content Browser and select the Create Destructible Mesh option.
Then open the new destruction mesh and click the fracture button on the top bar in the Destruction mesh editor. You can find out more about destructible mesh and their settings from Epics documentation.
Now you can go to the BP_MasterResource blueprint and then go to the Class Defaults and copy the video below with your own resources static mesh and destructible mesh.
Next go to your resource’s resource blueprint and set the Resource Depletion Effect to Destruction.
