Upgrading to UE5.1 from UE4
If you are upgrading your project from an Unreal Engine 4 version you must follow the guide linked below first and upgrade to 5.0, then once you have completed that guide you can follow this guide to upgrade to 5.1 from 5.0.
Upgrading to UE5.1 from 5.0
If your using an SGKv2 version that is 2.2.20 or newer you do not need to follow either of the guides below, just open your project in Unreal Engine 5.1 and it should work fine. If your version of SGKv2 is older then follow the instructions below.
If you haven’t yet opened your project in Unreal Engine 5.1 then you can follow this DIY Guide linked below, once you finish it you can open your project in Unreal Engine 5.1 without any issues.
If you have opened your project in Unreal Engine 5.1 and are experiencing a crash on startup and cannot revert to the 5.0 version of your project, you can follow the guide linked below.
